Pascal Audio

Drive real-time control and shape the core of intelligent power platforms

Do you want to work close to the hardware – where timing, determinism, and robustness truly matter?

At Pascal, we are expanding our embedded control architecture and are looking for an Embedded Software Developer to take ownership of real-time firmware and hardware-close system logic across our amplifier platforms. As part of our embedded team, you will develop firmware that sits at the heart of high-performance professional audio systems used worldwide. You will work closely with hardware, DSP, Linux, and power electronics engineers to ensure that our platforms operate reliably – in demanding, high-stakes live environments. In this role, you will get technical ownership, architectural influence, and the opportunity to shape core control systems that power world-class audio solutions.

In short: we are looking for someone who wants to build firmware that performs flawlessly in the real world.

What you’ll do

You will play a central role in developing and maintaining firmware for microcontroller-based control systems within our amplifier platforms.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement firmware for microcontroller-based control systems in high-performance audio amplifiers
  • Develop low-level drivers and hardware abstraction layers (I²C, SPI, UART, I²S/SAI, ADC/DAC, GPIO, PWM, timers, DMA)
  • Work with RTOS-based systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr or similar) – or bare-metal where required
  • Implement real-time control loops, monitoring systems, protection mechanisms, and safety-critical logic
  • Integrate MCU firmware with DSPs, Linux-based systems, and power electronics subsystems
  • Perform board bring-up, debugging, and validation on new hardware platforms
  • Optimize firmware for determinism, low latency, power efficiency, and robustness
  • Contribute to production firmware builds, device provisioning, and diagnostic tooling
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and test automation initiatives

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines, ensuring that firmware and hardware operate as one coherent system.

Who you are

You enjoy working close to the metal and understand the responsibility that comes with firmware running in production hardware. You take pride in writing robust, well-structured code that performs predictably under real-world constraints.

You likely bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development on production hardware
  • Strong C/C++ skills in resource-constrained environments
  • Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M or similar)
  • Experience with interrupt-driven systems, timers, DMA, and real-time constraints
  • Confidence reading schematics and collaborating closely with hardware engineers
  • Experience debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD tools
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, or Ethernet
  • A structured and quality-driven mindset – firmware must be stable in the field
  • Fluent English (Danish is a plus)

It is an advantage if you have experience with MCU platforms such as TI, STM32, or NXP, digital audio interfaces, protection systems, bootloaders, secure firmware updates, Linux integration, or CI pipelines for embedded systems. Most importantly, you take ownership of your work, think in systems, and value collaboration across engineering disciplines.

What’s in it for you?

At Pascal, this is more than “just” a firmware role.

You will:

  • Own core control firmware inside products used by leading global pro-audio brands
  • Influence architecture across embedded, DSP, Linux, and power electronics domains
  • Work in an environment with short decision paths and high technical responsibility

We offer flexible ways of working and a collaborative engineering culture built on trust, autonomy, and high professional standards. Our Scandinavian approach to work means balance, responsibility, and the freedom to focus deeply – without compromising on ambition. And all of this takes place in a company driven by engineering excellence and a shared passion for powerful sound.

Furthermore

Your primary workplace will be at our HQ in Herlev, Denmark, with hybrid flexibility where appropriate. We believe that strong collaboration grows from seeing each other regularly and working closely across functions.

To join us, you must be eligible to work in Denmark and able to secure the relevant work and residence permits.
